Relocating to the Central Coast?

Making the Move to SLO County

We were transplants too

Maybe it was a weekend in Pismo, a visit to Cal Poly, or a drive up Highway 1 that got you thinking, "What if we actually lived here?" You're not the first to ask. People move to San Luis Obispo County from the Bay Area, Los Angeles, and all over the country for the slower pace, the outdoors, and a real sense of community.

The thing most people don't realize is that SLO County isn't one place. It's a beach town, a college town, and wine country, each with its own weather, home prices, and way of life. Our job is to help you figure out where you fit before you ever pack a box, so your move feels like coming home instead of a gamble.

Pick Your Weather First

One county, three climates

The number one question we hear from people moving here is, "What's the weather really like?" The honest answer: it depends on which side of the hill you live on. On the same summer afternoon, Cambria can sit in the upper 60s while Paso Robles hits the low 90s, about 30 miles away.

Our free Climate Guide breaks down all three zones: the Coast (Cambria, Morro Bay, Los Osos, Pismo Beach and more), the Coastal Valleys (San Luis Obispo, Arroyo Grande, Nipomo), and North County (Atascadero, Templeton, Paso Robles). Pick your weather first, then let's find the right home.
