What’s Happening in SLO County This Month!

Fall has arrived! October comes with so many festive activities, so we wanted to highlight some fun upcoming events!  

Upcoming Events

Morro Bay Maritime Festival

• Date: October 9-13, 2024
• Location: 1210 Embarcadero Morro Bay, CA 93442
• Details: Experience five days of maritime events in Morro Bay from October 9-13, starting with a Chamber Mixer on Wednesday at the waterfront to welcome new CEO, Dina Lundquist. Thursday features the Rock the Harborfront benefit event with live music, catering, and a silent auction at the Morro Bay Yacht Club. Friday brings a free concert at Tidelands Park with the Zongo All-Stars, followed by Saturday's Free Family Fun Day at the Maritime Museum and a special pirate-themed movie night at the Bay Theater. The weekend wraps up Sunday with the Chris Lockwood Regatta, where you can cheer on young sailors in the harbor.

Harvest Weekend Festive Flights at Opolo

• Date: October 18-20, 2024 @ 10:00 AM - 5:00 PM
• Location: 7110 Vineyard Dr, Paso Robles, CA 93446
• Details: Celebrate Opolo’s Harvest Festival Weekend with special tasting flights and pairings!

Fall Celebration at the Boo-tanical Garden

• Date: October 20, 2024 @ 10:00 AM - 2:00 PM 
• Details: A fun-filled day at the Boo-tanical Garden! This free event is perfect for families. Get creative with pumpkin decorating, enjoy a photo scavenger hunt, have your face painted, and listen to engaging stories. There will also be crafts, activities, balloons, and delicious treats to enjoy. Costumes are encouraged! No tickets or registration are required, and while everything is free, donations are appreciated to support future family programs.

Fall Fest at New Life Pismo

• Date: October 26, 2024 @ 5-8 PM
• Details: Join us for our annual fall party! This spectacular night will be fun for all ages featuring free games, live entertainment, photo opportunities, inflatables, CANDY, music, an epic cake walk, popcorn, cotton candy and snow cones!  Hot dogs meals will be available for purchase at the event. We look forward to seeing you in your awesome costumes!

Avila Valley Barn Pumpkin Patch & Hayrides

• Date: All of October
• Location: 560 Avila Beach Dr, San Luis Obispo, CA 93405
• Details: Pick your perfect pumpkin, enjoy a hayride, and grab some fresh produce and treats. A fall favorite for everyone!

Scarecrow Festival in Cambria

• Date: All of October
• Location: Cambria & San Simeon
• Details: A month-long festival featuring hundreds of whimsical, creative scarecrows displayed throughout the towns of Cambria and San Simeon. Stroll through these charming coastal towns to see scarecrows of all shapes and sizes, crafted by local businesses and residents.

Bob Jones Trail Fall Hike & Picnic

• Take in the autumn views with a leisurely hike along Bob Jones Trail, perfect for families with kids. Pack a picnic to enjoy at the trail’s end.
